I covered all of our decorations and set up for our Christmas in Nauvoo Church party in this post, and here I’ll cover what we did for food, activities and our spiritual program at the end. I am a firm believer that a good ward social stands on three pillars: good food, thoughtful decorations, and a planned activity and/or program. Not everything has to go according to plan (in fact, it rarely does), but nonetheless- you need a plan my friend! Don’t worry, that’s what I am here to help with.… Read the rest

Last year our Back to Bethlehem-themed ward Christmas social was so much fun and such a hit we decided to keep it going with another era-themed party. Since we were just wrapping up the study of the Doctrine & Covenants, we thought it would be fun to celebrate Christmas- pioneer style. A friend of mine had done this “Christmas in Nauvoo” theme with her ward the year prior it looked so great she inspired me to do the same. I couldn’t find a lot of resources online for inspiration, so I thought I’d share what we did to give you a starting point.… Read the rest

This year for our Church Christmas party, we attempted a Back to Bethlehem theme. I have heard of this being done but never personally attended or participated in one. I knew it would be a big undertaking, and it was. But I felt really good about the results. Everything came together and honestly far exceeded my expectations. And the feedback from the ward members was so kind and appreciative, it made it all worth it. One Elder serving in our ward from Utah told me, “this was the best ward activity I have ever been to in my life!”… Read the rest

Primary Program Invitation New Testament

Hello! I can’t believe it’s been 4 years and we are back to the New Testament again! I did a quick update to the primary program invitation from 2019 so it now reflects the correct year. I hope that is helpful for you and your primaries as we move towards that season!

Latter Day Saint Free Primary Program Invitation

I have also included “save the date” cards that you can send home in advance of the actual invitations (perhaps included with the child’s parts they need to learn?). When I was serving in primary we always gave each child 2 invitations to the primary program.… Read the rest
