Well, we have a rough draft of our script done.  I have learned, from past mistakes, not to call it a final draft until the morning of.  Again I know it is helpful to look at what other wards are doing and use those, in part or in whole, to put your own script together- so here is ours!  Along with some tips to adapt it for your own primary.

Tips to Adapt this Script for YOUR Primary:

• If you need fewer parts combine some of the shorter parts into one.
• If you need more parts, split up the longer parts into two. 

As part of the theme “I know the scripture are true” the Friend magazine is highlighting a scripture hero each month.  We put a clue in our primary mailbox each week and on the last week of the month that hero comes to visit us in our time machine.

For August we will be highlighting Samuel.  Samuel has such a great story to tell, and of course the excitement of getting so close to Christ’s birth.

These  were made for primary in mind, but they would also make a great Family Home Evening lesson on Samuel the Lamanite.  Hide the clues around the house and as they find each clue they can get closer to guessing who it is!… Read the rest

As part of the 2016 primary theme “I know the scriptures are true” our kids have been working on filling out our scripture reading chart. If they read their scriptures at least 5 times during the week they get to add a sticker on Sunday.  Around May we filled up our first chart!  The kids were so excited and asked, “what did we earn, what did we earn??”  (up to this point we had just told them there would be “something”).  Well we kept them in the dark for a few more weeks, and told them their clue was the shape of our scripture reading chart.  … Read the rest
