We just got back from our fourth visit to Quarry Park, and I can definitely say it is one of my family’s favorite places in the Sacramento area! I’m so excited to share with you all the latest about what’s going on over there and all the fun family activities they have planned for the fall! If you’ve never been this is definitely the time to check it out with the cooler temps and the fun fall events! (and a discount code I’ll be sharing below!).
What is Quarry Park Adventures?
What is Quarry Park? Quarry Park Adventures is Northern California’s favorite outdoor adventure park built within and atop a former rock quarry — a truly unique and unforgettable outdoor adventure destination. Located in Rocklin, California, the adventure park offers a variety of different adventure activities including rock climbing, zip lining, free-fall jumps, an incredible kids play area and much more. Quarry Park Adventures offers more aerial adventure attractions in one easily-accessed location
than any other adventure park in the nation. Think of it as a place to test your limits, build your confidence, and have an absolutely unforgettable experience. You can check out some of our adventures in video form here. And if you want to read more of the basics about what Quarry Park is and what it has to offer head over to this post.
What’s New at Quarry Park?
Quarry Park has some very big news. After four years of working towards it Quarry Park just approved a new weight minimum requirement for their ziplines of 45 lbs (previously 70 lbs)! It’s been a long haul but they did it! This opens up so much more of the park to younger adventurers. Some of the easiest Aerial Obstacle Courses end in a zip line so now those courses are accessible to everyone 45 lbs and over. I’m excited to take my 6 year old back so he can try out the easier courses that he couldn’t access before.
Quarry Park has also installed some additional shade structures over the rock climbing walls. This will bring welcome relief to climbers, especially in the summer months and the middle parts of the day. The quarry can get very hot with all of the heat radiating off of the granite. I’m so excited about the new shade!
Fall Events at Quarry Park
Depending on the age range of your family or group, Quarry Park has three awesome fall activities to choose from this year! Use code FALL15ALIA when booking.
Fun & Fright Climb
Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 (7pm-10pm)
Cost: Ticketed – Starts at $59.00
Details: After-hours night climb with festive lighting and decorations throughout the park. Festive photo spots will also be available throughout the park. Participants are encouraged to dress up and enjoy the thrills of the course at night. Ticket includes open access to Quarry zip line, rappel, rock climbing, via ferrata, free fall, and aerial courses
–> I recommend this event if your crowd is 8 and up. Especially for tweens/teens, I think this is the perfect family outing or great to do if they think their too old for trick or treating this year ;).
Harvest Festival Family Weekend
Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 (11am-3pm)
Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023 (11am-3pm)
Details: Festive fall and Halloween decor, pumpkins, scavenger hunt, childrens’ activities, and free candy stations.
–>I recommend this event if you have a wide range of ages you want to bring to the park, great for littles who aren’t quite ready for the more challenging aspects of the Quarry yet.
Trunk or Treat
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 (11am-3pm)
Cost: Free Event / $10 Flat Kidz Kove Tickets Include Unlimited Access to Kidz Kove Play Area and Miner’s Maze (Free event includes only outside activities and trunk or treating.)
Details: Local businesses provide decorated “trunks” with candy to give out. No advanced registration required for trunk or treating. Free candy stations while supplies last. Vendors, activities for children, scavenger hunt, and festive Halloween decorations.
–>I recommend this event as a fun preschool or elementary play date outing. The kids will have a blast at the Kids Kove with a great deal on the tickets, and of course who can say no to trunk or treating?!
How Do I Get Tickets?
It’s best to get tickets in advance on their website. Through November 19, 2023 you can use the code FALL15ALIA for 15% off at booking. If you’re unsure what type of ticket is best for your or your family here are some factors to consider when choosing your ticket:
- You start with about a 15-30 minute safety orientation where they teach you how to work your gear so you can traverse the courses on your own. So if you book a 4 hour pass that leaves you with about 3 1/2 hours to explore.
- You may have to wait in line at different points while you wait for people in front of you to complete obstacles.
- It is usually 10 degrees hotter down in the quarry. So if it’s a hot summer day you may have had enough after 2 hours.
- They also have tickets that give you access to just the Kids Kove or particular aspects of the park. Kids Kove tickets are great for kids under 8, in my opinion.
All in all what type of ticket you choose really depends on a lot of factors like weather, the age and personality of participants, how far you drove to get there, etc. If you have any questions shoot me a DM on instagram @partylikeacherry and I’ll try to help you decide what’s best for your group!
So head out to Quarry Park this fall to enjoy the beautiful weather in an awesome adventure setting. Whether you’re going for an afternoon in the Quarry or one of their Fall events, your family will fall in love with this venue and want to come back time and again!
