Milestone Birthday Ideas and Printables

*This post contains affiliate links, see my full disclosure here*

I had the honor of helping to throw a surprise 90th birthday party for my husband’s grandmother. Truthfully, I did very little. My Mother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law and some of her other children’s spouses did all the hard work! I just made a few printables and supplied the house ;). It turned out to be such a nice event, and truthfully, it was the happiest I have EVER seen her! (which was a relief because we were all a little nervous to surprise a 90 year-old).

Milestone Birthday Centerpieces

My mother-in-law made the gorgeous centerpieces. She used this chalk paint to paint the little buckets that we put the tulips in:Milestone birthday centerpiece idea

And aren’t the photo holders wonderful? We had several at each table so people could look through old photos as they ate and chatted.milestone birthday centerpiece photo holders

She made the photo holders out of the following: Wire, Candlestick, Plug

Milestone Birthday Decorations

My favorite decoration for sure was the vintage dress  we had displayed! I had nothing to do with this but I loved how it added to the feel of the party! They rounded up a manican and put one of her actual dresses on it, and pinned to the dress a photo of her IN the dress!

My sister in law made that cute sign next to it detailing how many days, hours and mintues she’s lived, how many children and grandchildren etc.

Milestone Birthday Poster

I loved making this 1928 poster to celebrate her life and the year she was born. She’s pretty famous sharing a birth year with antibiotics!!!

  1. I would love to do something like this for my mother too! I remember having a special party for my late grandpa when he celebrated his 75th. It was a big family reunion with some of his special friends. Oh what a lovely memory it is!
