We haven’t had our big reveal of Nephi yet (we will be doing that next sunday), but I had a chance today to make the scripture hero clues for February. I also had some requests for a blank version so you can make up your own clues. February is Enos so I think the clues will be a bit tougher for the children to guess.
A sweet friend of mine is expecting her third child AND celebrating her 40th birthday! She had the grand idea of making the celebration fiesta-themed. I made some fiesta invitations for the event that I thought I would share with you today.
Above is my final invitation, and below is the blank version you can download
As always you can open this jpeg in any photo-editing program or software (like picmonkey or picasa) to adjust and edit it for your needs. I do offer my services to personalize the invitation for you for a $7 flat fee and you will receive a JPEG that you can have printed. … Read the rest
Well, i’m awarding myself bonus points for getting the bulletin board finalized before February. It seems with each passing year I fall further and further behind! Is it just me? I should have it all down by now and be further ON TOP of things… right? In any case, after much inspiration from the Friend, the primary presidency facebook page, and my counselors, we settled for the superhero theme. And each month we will introduce our “scripture hero” (to see how we are introducing our scripture heroes check out this post). So here’s the finished board:
In the red squares we will be adding the scripture hero of the month from the Friend (again for more details on that read this post).… Read the rest
So my kids are big fans of the How to Train Your Dragon movies. And now that we have discovered the original Netflix series based off of the movies, I dare say they are obsessed. So I called Oldest into the office and we brainstormed some ideas for valentines day cards. This is what we came up with- what do you think?
I made two versions because in some cases its a lot easier to not have a “to” and just have your child sign all the valentines and hand them out to whomever. But there are both options for whatever rocks your boat 😉
Some ideas on what to do with these after you print them on cardstock (FYI I like to use white backgrounds when I plan on using my own printer, ya know, since ink cartridges cost an arm and a leg):
Your on fire valentine: Attach “hot tamales” with double sided tape (or any “hot” candy)
I hope this candy doesn’t leave you toothless: staple jawbreakers to the back
May our friendship last like a good hiccup: punch a hole with a hole puncher and slip a lollipop through it
As part of the theme “I know the scripture are true” the Friend magazine is highlighting a scripture hero each month. I have seen so many cute ideas on how to use these scripture heroes. I think we decided that for our primary we are going to have a “scripture hero” clue in the mailbox each week and on the last week of the month they can guess who it is. Hopefully we can even have that scripture hero make a surprise visit to Primary that day.
