Well, after putting in an embarrassing number of hours on my sons 5th Cops & Robbers birthday party it all came down to the weather forecast, which I checked ceaselessly the week leading up to the event.  Sure enough the foreboding 50% chance of rain went up to 60%, and then 70%… the night before it said 90% and it was time for plan B.  My sweet hubby suggested we hold the party at our church, which of course was probably the best idea.  But I already had the dining room partially decorated and an exact idea of where I wanted everything in my brain and the thought of transporting everything to another locale was giving me severe anxiety.  … Read the rest

Once upon a time my oldest turned 3.  He was ob-sessed with Cars at the time so naturally it was a cars party.  This was back in 2012, before the age of pinterest! (or at least before I was cool enough to know about it).  But thank goodness I still had the rusty, trusty internet to peruse for some ideas.  I found something somewhere where a woman had made cars out of boxes for the guests- GENIUS! Curious George & Nostalgia

Oldest came into the world a TV lover.  I mean, I know all kids love TV- but really- by 6 months he would just lay there mesmerized by baby einstein for as long as I would let him.  I didn’t know this was out of the ordinary until I had more children.  The second wouldn’t sit for any length of period to watch TV until he was almost 2.  The third is 14 months and has very little interest so far.  In any case, by the time Cameron was 2 he had a well established Curious George addiction.  I have to admit, im pretty fond of the show myself- very clever writing.  … Read the rest
