“C” is for Caterpillar- Fun Preschool Snack

grape caterpillars

Second started preschool this month and I am lucky enough to be able to send him to a dear friend a few hours a week.  I am so grateful that she is teaching my little one this year- she’s amazing!  Anywho, “c” week was our week for snacks.  I saw a photo floating around the internet of grape caterpillars and thought that was genius!  There was no blog post or anything that I could find to accompany it, however, so I thought I’d share how we put together & used our grape caterpillars.

Materials needed: mini chocolate chips, icing, skewers (remember when I said I order them in bulk?… Read the rest

We thrive on structure around here.  With three little munchkins running around and a bunch of different schedules to keep, structure is what I CLING to for survival.  I hope there are some others out there like me?? Or am I the lone OCD Mom? When Oldest started TK last year (transitional kindergarten…its a California thing) it was QUITE the “transition” (pun-intended) for our little family.  Because I send him to a school out of our district, he can’t take the bus.  Which can make for some complicated maneuvering of nap times for Youngest!  And I still remember the first day he was gone at school Second was wandering around the house looking for him (under beds, in closets, in the garage) ALL day.… Read the rest

*this post contains affiliate links at no additional cost to you*

It was quite the week for Oldest.  Not only did he start kindergarten, but he also had to have one of his front teeth pulled!  The day before Kindergarten!!  Pretty rough.  He was brave though, got through it all and only fell apart once it was all over.  It helps that our dentist ROCKS!

Anyhow, that night amongst trying to make sure we had everything ready for his first day, I knew the tooth fairy had to do something extra special as well.  So I turned to my trusty computer (normal people would probably turn to their sewing machine..?)… Read the rest

Countdown Bags

8 / 15 / 158 / 3 / 16

countdown bagsSpoiler Alert: It is very possible that you will be very jealous by the end of this paragraph.  In fact, if I had read this post on another blog even the day before this trip was booked I would have turned green with envy and thought to my poor self “why don’t I ever get to do stuff like that?!”  Well my friends: I’m going to Bermuda.  For 9 days. Without my kids.  Wait, did you hear me right? NINE DAYS WITHOUT MY KIDS!!  IN BERMUDA!!!

I have very mixed feelings on this.  It all happened so fast and the stars aligned just so (aka my amazing mother in law who is willing to spend half of her summer break watching my three munchkins).  … Read the rest
