So, i’m pretty sure we are the last school on the planet to get out for summer break.  It’s been a little rough, i’ll be honest, scrolling through my instagram feed and seeing you all post your cute kiddos on their last day of school while we still had 3 weeks left.  But finally our last day has arrived.  Oldest has had one heck-a-va amazing kindergarten teacher and we had to show her a little love on the last day.

4th of July Party Game Quiz

Independence day always has me feeling nostalgic.  Growing up we lived in this quaint little commuter town on the outskirts of Manhattan.  July 4th was quite the town event being held at the local park, which is really an old estate that was donated to the town once upon a time.  It is a rather exclusive event and you have to show proof of town residency to score a parking ticket.  Families would show up with lunch and dinner and plop themselves down somewhere on the several-acre open lawn and settle in for the long haul.  A big brass band would play music from the 40s and families would mingle from picnic blanket to picnic blanket showing off their recently cape cod-acquired tans. … Read the rest

Alright.  So summer…. it’s a rough one I’m not gonna lie.  Most of this stems from the fact that Sweet Hubby works 12 hour days, 7 days a week through the summer time.  In other words, I’m on my own.  All that magical summer amazing-ness that is supposed to happen… all those trips, family reunions, vacations… yup- its all up to me!  Let’s just say it leaves me a little overwhelmed.  And the truth is with 3 little ones we mostly stay home during the summer time and do our big vacations at other times during the year when work is not so busy for Daddy.… Read the rest
