May the 4th Party Decoration Ideas

If you want to see a video of how our party room turned out you can see that here. Convert your party area to a Tatooine marketplace with lots of hanging/ripped canvas and awnings. Hack: check your thrift stores for canvas curtains to get this look super cheap! I made these signet flags using old curtains, some craft paint, and iron on decals I cut with my cricut. I used different star wars symbols on each one (you can see the Jedi Order flag below). I used a utility knife to rough it up and make it look more worn and then added paint in those spots as well. For more details on these flags head over to this post and to see a video of how I made these head over here.

Another easy DIY is to make some Yoda Paper lanterns– all you need is some green paper lanterns and green cardstock. I have a template for the Yoda ears included in my Mandalorian Digital Party Pack, you can use that template to trace the ears out and then attach them with glue dots. I tried stapling them on at first but that was kind of a disaster. Those paper lanterns are very thin.

And of course a banner to go along with the theme of the invitation- this “this is the way” banner is also included in the Mandalorian Party Pack. I hung it over our Grogu cake as you can see here. I made this banner with silver cardstock that I cut with my cricut- the banner included in the digital party pack is a black and white printable. You can see I also included some gummy frogs (remember how Grogu loves frogs?) and Star Wars toys that we had.

May the 4th Party Food Ideas

You’re going to need lots of good snacks to get you through those Star Wars marathons- here are some fun ideas:

Try this table spread for a May the Fourth celebration

Try this grogu/mando inspired treat spread for a huge wow factor when your guests arrive. We used Mando cupcake toppers (included in the digital party pack) for our cupcakes, blue oreos (remember when Grogu eats those blue cookies- plus don’t they just look kind of star wars-y?), more gummy frogs, chocolate eggs, and gummy worms- all foods Grogu loves! Well- not sure about the cupcakes. But I feel confident if he tried these cupcakes he would be on board. I laid it all down the center of the table so it became a grazing board of sorts that people could snack on throughout the night.

We also had “Yoda Soda” (printable available in my Digital Party Pack) and Yoda plates at each place setting. The template for the ears that I put on the each plate is also included in the party pack. Those mando masks were a pretty lucky score at our dollar store. But here is an option from Amazon that would be fun for guests to wear!

Under the Yoda plates I used some silver square plates and as a table runner I actually used silver wedding wrapping paper. It just felt like it fit with the whole Mando/armor theme. (by the way do you know that hack? wrapping paper makes a great table runner- and you can find almost any color or pattern to match any theme!) I almost forgot- we also made chocolate frogs for each party guest using this mold– they were a big hit.

May the Fourth DIY Party Favors

You’ll need something to send your guests on their way after hours of consuming Star Wars trilogies- what better than a bar of Beskar? To make these I used some wrapping paper left over from the table runner and wrapped boxes of candy (think movie theater size- like junior mints). I then added the symbol of the empire to the corner to complete the look. You could also do king size candy bars- (like hersheys or mr. goodbar) or anything rectangular really!
